About Laura
I attended my first yoga class in 1995 while visiting a friend in Los Angeles and was astounded by how amazing I felt afterwards. I could feel the blood coursing through my veins, my eyes were sparkling, and I had a huge grin on my face. I could not remember ever feeling this vibrant. I knew that yoga would play an important role in my life, and I have been following the path of yoga ever since. Yoga brings me tremendous joy and also helps me deal with life's challenges. I am a breast cancer survivor, and yoga played a huge role in my recovery from multiple surgeries and chemotherapy. I strongly believe that yoga improves our ability to heal on all levels, and consider it an honor to share this healing practice with others.
I am a yoga instructor and yoga therapist, trained to work with adults and children, and am registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level. My specific training includes: Bikram (Hot) Yoga, Yoga for the Special Child, Yin Yoga, Pre-Natal Yoga, and the Essentials Immersion with Richard Freeman. Additionally I trained for more than 1,000 hours to become certified as a Professional Yoga Therapist through Integrative Yoga Therapy. I am committed to ongoing education and regularly attend workshops and conferences with master teachers to hone my skills. My teaching style is compassionate and encouraging, with plenty of precise and attentive instruction.
My primary teaching venues are CorePower Yoga, Yoga Pod, and Yo Mama Yoga and Family Center in Boulder. I have also established yoga programs and taught at a variety of other locations, including:
- Longmont United Hospital
- Tebo Cancer Center, Boulder Community Hospital
- Alta Physical Therapy
- HealthLinks Clinic

- Fleet Feet Sports
- The Women's Wilderness Institute
On a personal note, I am an Illinois native currently living in Boulder, Colorado. I have a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.A. from Stanford University. In my free time I hike, weightlift, snowboard, read, and spend time with my excellent husband and friends.
